The Camp Fire began early Thursday morning near Camp Creek Road and Highway 70 in the Feather River Canyon. Overnight, strong winds pushed the fire to the South and Southwest. Winds are expected to decrease in strength later this afternoon, though strong winds are forecast for the area through the weekend. Extremely dry fuel (vegetation), in combination with low relative humidity, will continue to produce active fire behavior and impede control efforts. An interactive fire map is available here.

Woolsey Fire – Canoga Park, CA

•Fire Size: 17,000 acres
•Containment: Unknown
•Over 400 fire professionals are assigned to this fire
•FireBehavior: Extreme
•FireGrowthPotential: High
•Evacuations: Mandatory evacuations are impacting policyholders
•Structures Lost (as reported by the Ventura County Fire Dept.): Unknown
•Date of Origin: November 8, 2018

Due to the extreme behavior of the fire and the terrain, response crews are struggling to engage with the head of the fire, and additional resources are in route to assist in firefighting efforts. All homes located between the fire and the Pacific Ocean are currently under mandatory evacuation. An interactive fire map is available here.
